How I Perfectly Capture Your Scottish Destination Wedding Day

There’s nowhere quite like Scotland for a wedding.

Castles perched on cliff edges. Rolling hills that look like they’ve been painted. That soft, moody light. The romance here is effortless, & it’s exactly why couples from all over the world choose Scotland as the place to say I do.

If you’re planning a destination wedding here, first of all, incredible choice. Second, I know it can feel like a lot. Planning a wedding from another country comes with its own unique blend of excitement & mild chaos. But the good news? I’m here to make at least one thing really easy: your photography.

As a wedding photographer based in Scotland, I’ve worked with couples from across the globe to capture their day in a way that’s effortless, elegant & totally true to them. Here’s exactly how I make that happen.

Before the Wedding: Planning Makes Perfect

We’ll start with a proper catch-up. Zoom (with coffee) & emails across time zones - whatever works best for you. I want to get to know you both, hear about your plans, your style, the kind of vibe you’re going for. Are we talking windswept highlands or a black-tie castle affair? Champagne towers & insane parties or calm luxury with your nearest & dearest? Every detail helps me capture your story, your way.

Behind the scenes, I’ll work closely with your planner (if you have one), help you build a timeline that works with the light & location, & make sure we’ve got plenty of time for portraits without missing the party. If I haven’t worked at your venue before, I’ll either scout it in advance or get there early to find the best spots for those magazine-worthy shots.

On the Day: Calm, Editorial & Fun (Promise)

Wedding photography should never feel forced or awkward. You don’t need to know how to pose, & I won’t have you fake-laughing on repeat. My job is to make you feel completely at ease. Like you can actually enjoy the day while I quietly (and sometimes not-so-quietly) work my magic.

& if I have a superpower? It’s this: making people feel relaxed & totally themselves in front of the camera. No awkward angles. No over-posing. Just natural confidence that shines through in every shot. That’s how we get photos that look effortlessly editorial, because you felt amazing in the moment.

I’ll guide you through the day with a calm, confident energy, always reading the room & never pulling you away from the celebration for too long. When it comes to portraits, I prefer to split your couple time into two short, relaxed bursts - one during the drinks reception for that soft, romantic light, & one later in the evening when the venue lights up & we can lean into those bold, editorial flash shots I love. It keeps things flowing naturally & gives you space to actually enjoy the day.

My Style: Effortlessly Editorial, Emotionally Honest

Let’s talk about what your photos will actually look like.

My work is often described as timeless with a modern edge. Think editorial framing, clean tones, romantic light & a strong sense of place. It’s refined but relaxed. Fashion-forward but never cold. You’ll look like your most confident, gorgeous self, surrounded by all the people you love, in one of the most beautiful places on earth.

I’m known for blending a documentary approach with an editorial eye. I capture those big emotional moments with style, & those stylish moments with real emotion.

During the day, we’ll use the natural light & the venue’s surroundings to create scenic, romantic portraits. Then when the sun sets, I often switch to direct flash for something a little edgier, more fashion-led & high energy. Those evening portraits? They’re always a favourite - effortless, cinematic, cool.

The Scottish Details: Romantic, Real & Properly Captured

Scottish weddings have a certain magic about them. Maybe it’s the whisky toast before the ceremony. Maybe it’s the piper. Maybe it’s the fact that the weather can change five times in an hour & somehow make every photo more atmospheric.

Whether you’re tying the knot with a handfasting ceremony, twirling through a ceilidh or simply sipping something local with your guests, I’ll be there capturing every meaningful moment & beautiful detail. From the grandeur of your venue down to the heirloom cufflinks or silk bow in your hair, I treat it all like art.

After the Wedding: The Gallery You’ll Obsess Over

I know how hard it is to wait for your wedding photos. That’s why I always send sneak peeks within a couple days. Just enough to make you cry happy tears on your honeymoon.

Your full gallery will follow soon after, filled with moments you missed & ones you’ll never forget. Every image is edited with a timeless, modern touch. Nothing too trendy or overdone, so you’ll still love them in 10, 20, 50 years.

You’ll receive:

• A beautiful, easy-to-use online gallery

• Custom slideshow for reliving the day

• Optional album design & print options if you want to turn your gallery into something tangible

Why Couples Trust Me With Their Day

Because I genuinely care.

Because I know how to make people feel comfortable.

Because I treat every wedding like it matters (because it does).

Because I know the difference between a pretty photo & one that makes you feel something.

& because I’ve photographed enough weddings in Scotland to know where to find the best light, when the wind is your friend, & how to pivot gracefully if the weather turns sideways.

Thinking of Getting Married in Scotland? I’d Love to Photograph It.

Whether you’re flying in from LA or London, planning a romantic elopement or a full-on destination celebration, I’m here to capture your wedding day in a way that feels beautiful, intentional & totally you.
